Adult education services are offered in Mifflin County and Juniata Counties and are funded by federal and state funding. Programming includes Workplace Foundation Skills and Career Pathways adult basic education to prepare participants for transitioning to the workplace or post secondary schooling and GED® preparation. In addition, Literacy programming with one-on-one volunteer tutors to address the needs of low level literacy or ESL participants is offered in Mifflin County & Juniata County. Health Care Preparation and Transitions to Post Secondary (in collaboration with Penn State University) are 2 specialized Career Pathways courses offered in Mifflin County. A GED® preparation is also offered through a Mifflin County grant in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility. The Mifflin County CareerLink® is an official PA GED® testing site.

 

Family education services include a variety of programming serving family members of all ages.  The Parent Child Home Program (Mifflin County & Juniata County) is a home based visiting program for 2-3 year olds and their parents to encourage the role of parents as 1st teachers. ELECT (Education Leading to Employment and Career Training) and the Fatherhood Initiative assist pregnant and parenting teens to stay in school and transition to employment and self sufficiency. Project YES and the Second Step After School Program are delinquency prevention programs for elementary and middle school students in Mifflin County.
