Bridges to the Future will put you on a path to obtain the experiences and develop the skills needed to obtain a job, keep a job and compete in today’s tough economy.
PA CareerLink® Youth Staff will guide you through a series of activities and experiences to help you:
- Learn about yourself, your interests and your skills
- Gain volunteer and work experience
- Make connections between the classroom and careers
- Create a portfolio linked to your post-high school goal: college/training, employment or military
- Prepare for the transition from high school
Benefits and activities may include:
- Paid summer work experiences.
- Development of an action plan to transition from high school to work, college or the military.
- Career exploration.
- Job shadowing opportunities.
- Quarterly activities throughout your junior year.
- Monthly activities throughout your senior year.
- Budgeting tips.
- Placement assistance after high school graduation.
- Up to 1 year of follow up support to make your transition successful.
Most activities will take place at your school during a time that works best with your schedule. Other activities and experiences may occur at your local PA CareerLink® office or worksites in your community.
Must meet wia program eligibility; minimum employability and academic skills may apply.
